Brazil reduces burned area in the country by 70% in the 1st quarter of 2025

Between January and March 2025, Brazil recorded 912.9 thousand hectares burned. The data is part of the new update of the Fire Monitor, an initiative by MapBiomas that uses satellite images to map and quantify the extent of burned area across the entire national territory.
