On June 18, a three-year-old boy sustained critical injuries after being allegedly thrown 15ft from a viewing platform into a crocodile enclosure at Johnson's Zoo in Old Hurst, Cambridgeshire.
Police arrested a 30-year-old man on suspicion of attempted murder, then released him on bail after determining he was "not fit for interview."
Zoo owners Andy and Tracey Johnson described the episode as "one of the most distressing" in their history, praising responders for acting with "incredible speed and determination."
Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge confirmed the toddler remains in stable condition, though his family described ongoing rehabilitation as "extremely challenging."
Welcoming visitors back last Saturday, nine days after the incident, the Tropical House owners expressed gratitude for "overwhelming" community support throughout the crisis.
