Boy, 14, taken to hospital after stabbing at Manchester Arndale
Police say the boy’s injuries are not life-threatening as detectives process the scene and ask witnesses to come forward.
On Saturday, October 17, a 14-year-old boy was stabbed in the 9th-floor car park at Manchester Arndale; emergency services transported him to hospital with serious injuries around 3:20 p.m.
The Manchester Evening News understands the stabbing occurred moments after a 'shoplifting incident' at the Arndale Centre, prompting Greater Manchester Police and the Tactical Aid Unit to respond and secure the area.
Detective Inspector Sam Jones confirmed the victim's injuries are not life-threatening or life-changing, while Crime Scene Investigators continue gathering evidence on the 9th level of the car park.
Police have not yet made any arrests and urge anyone with information to call 101, quoting log 2050, or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
Officers and detectives will remain in the area to engage with local businesses and the public, as police stated this is believed to be an isolated incident with no wider risk.
