Blake Masters Plans to Enter Race for Kyrsten Sinema’s Senate Seat
- Blake Masters, who previously ran for Arizona's Senate seat against Mark Kelly in 2022, is reportedly preparing to run again in 2024 against independent Senator Krysten Sinema. He lost to Kelly by roughly five percentage points, or just under 126,000 votes.
- Republican Kari Lake, who previously ran for Arizona governor in 2022, is also considering a bid for the same Senate seat. A three-way race is already set between Sinema, Democratic Rep. Ruben Gallego, and the eventual GOP nominee.
- Senate Republicans hope to win back control of the chamber, as they only need a net gain of one or two seats. However, it is uncertain whether Masters or Lake would be viable contenders in the general election against Sinema or Gallego, with some suggesting that Republican Mark Lamb, the current Pinal County Sheriff, may be the best candidate for Republicans due to his experience with drugs and illegal immigration.
