Three Locations Proposed For New Blair Co., Prison

An engineering firm has recommended to the Blair County Commissioners, three possible sites for a new one-hundred-million dollar prison.  The three sites include Sheraton Drive behind the Altoona Grand Hotel, West Plank Road behind the Hollidaysburg Veterans Home, and Route 36 and Charger Highway.  These recommendations are all part of the design and planning phase of the new prison, and will take up to a year to complete.  The current prison, w…
