Russian industrial infrastructure faces dual fire crisis affecting 28,100 square meters in total
Emergency crews deployed over 150 rescuers to extinguish simultaneous industrial fires in two Russian oblasts on 7 June, with blazes consuming a bitumen production facility near a major Lukoil refinery and a fuel storage depot outside Moscow.
On Saturday, June 7, in the Nizhny Novgorod region of Russia, there was a fire at a bitumen plant near the Lukoil oil refinery.
This could seriously undermine the army ' s provision of critical substances.
In an industrial plant in the village of Opaliha in the Kstov district of Nizhegorod region, containers with a total of 200 cubic metres of bitumen were set on fire, the regional office of MES reported. At the same time, there was a spill of liquid, and the fire completely destroyed two containers with bitumen, another partially damaged.
