Lee County Sheriff Jay Jones said Oscar Lee Eiland was standing on his front porch when Christopher James Espey Futral fired at least two shots from approximately 75 yards away.

Man arrested in Lee County homicide

The Lee County Sheriff’s Office says a one man is in custody following a shooting over the weekend. The incident happened around 7:18 p.m. Sunday in the 100 block of Lee Road 685 N., just east of Opelika. Once deputies arrived on the scene, they found an adult male victim, identified as 58-year-old Oscar Eiland, with multiple gunshot wounds to the pelvic and groin area.
