Man dies after getting into difficulty in sea off Essex coastal town
Police said the man was brought ashore, but emergency services could not save him and his family has been informed.
A man died after getting into difficulty in the sea off The Esplanade at Frinton-on-Sea on July 30; Essex Police responded shortly before 2:10pm after ambulance colleagues reported the swimmer had been brought ashore.
Despite the efforts of emergency personnel who attempted resuscitation after bringing the man to shore, he was declared dead at the scene, and emergency staff remained at the location to manage the aftermath.
An Essex Police spokesperson confirmed the man's family has been informed and is being supported by officers; the spokesperson stated, 'Our thoughts are with them at this difficult time.'
Members of the public are being urged to avoid The Esplanade to allow emergency services to carry out their work safely and effectively, with access restricted at the coastal location.
Emergency service personnel continue to maintain a presence at the scene in Frinton, where the response carries on following the incident and authorities manage ongoing operations.
