THE MOJ: B.C. Lions Locked Into Position Ahead of CFL Playoffs
Kaidon Salter gets the start as B.C. rests Nathan Rourke after clinching second place in the West Division.
The B.C. Lions will start quarterback Kaidon Salter on Friday against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers for their regular-season finale, with head coach Buck Pierce resting regular starter Nathan Rourke.
B.C. has already secured second place in the West Division and will host the divisional semifinal on Oct. 31, while Winnipeg requires a victory to clinch a post-season berth.
Rourke, the CFL's reigning outstanding player, has recorded 4,614 passing yards and 24 touchdowns this season, while Salter previously led the Lions to a 35-19 victory in Winnipeg on July 30.
Pierce stated he is "always thinking team first" regarding roster decisions, and the Lions may utilize Chris Oladokun, signed to the practice roster on Sept. 21, during Friday's game.
Salter noted Winnipeg has a "very big and physical defence" as the Lions prepare to host the divisional semifinal on Oct. 31, requiring focus and execution in the playoff-clinching matchup.
