- On April 30, 2025, BayCare initiated construction in Palmetto, Florida, on its 17th hospital and an associated HealthHub facility, both aimed at enhancing healthcare availability for residents of Manatee County.
- This project follows BayCare's mission to improve health through community-owned services and reflects growth with the Manatee County community.
- BayCare Hospital Manatee, the system's 17th facility, will feature 154 private patient rooms and will be the sole hospital located on the northern side of the Manatee River, situated next to a 45,000 square-foot HealthHub.
- The $563 million project expects the HealthHub to open in 2026 offering convenient, patient-focused outpatient and imaging services, while the hospital is expected to open in 2028.
- BayCare's president, Stephanie Conners, said the groundbreaking shows BayCare's ongoing commitment to expanding high-quality, compassionate care for local families.
