Focus on Germany’s state governments as €500 bln infrastructure package awaits adoption

The Bavarian coalition of CSU and Free Voters agrees to agree on the debt package. It is a "patriotic duty" to which one must comply, it says. However, five things are to be clarified.

The billions package still have a few hurdles to take. In Bavaria, CSU and Free Voters agreed – so a two-thirds majority in the Federal Council is almost certain.

In the Federal Council, Bavaria wants to approve the amendment of the Basic Law for the planned billion-dollar financial package of the Union and SPD. CSU and Free Voters agreed on this in a meeting of the Coalition Committee, state chancellor Herrmann said in a joint statement with Free Voter Group leader Streibl at the State Chancellery in Munich.
