Barn on the move
A rural Grundy Center barn found a new home last week courtesy of an area house mover. Fernau & Sons House Moving & Raising moved the top half of the barn, barn quilt and all, one-quarter mile along M Avenue (the Holland blacktop) to its new location near the crossing of the Pioneer Trail last Thursday. The structure currently sits several feet in the air atop cribbing where a new foundation will be built. (Photos courtesy of Kevin Fernau)
