- After struggling in the season opener against Elche, Yamal improved against Athletic Bilbao, where he played 90 minutes. Flick praised his work rate, stating, "I was very happy that he starts the game and he worked for the team."
- Barca won both opening fixtures with Raphinha playing as a makeshift number nine, but the club failed to sign Julian Alvarez. Flick said he is "happy with my team" and feels no pressure to add a striker.
- Addressing Yamal's recent frustration, Flick noted, "Of course, it's always good when the players are smiling, but it's not every day the same day." The coach emphasized supporting the winger as he regains form.
