Bank of Canada ordered to stop using replacement workers during strike
The Bank of Canada was ordered to stop using contracted Garda workers during a strike by its security officers.
The Canada Industrial Relations Board ruled that the Bank of Canada violated the Canada Labour Code by using contractors and union members' services during the strike.
Security officers began striking in June, demanding better wages and stable schedules after failed collective agreement talks with the Bank.
The Public Service Alliance of Canada reported 63 security officers on strike and noted Montreal workers were locked out during the strike.
