Ariana Grande Haunts Justin Long in 'Hate That I Made You Love Me'
The Christian Breslauer-directed short casts Justin Long as a murderous lover haunted by Grande’s ghost as she promotes her lead single.
On Friday, Ariana Grande released a horror-themed music video for "Hate That I Made You Love Me," the lead single from her upcoming album, Petal, co-starring actor Justin Long.
Directed by Christian Breslauer, the five-minute film depicts Long attempting to bury Grande, only to be ceaselessly haunted by her ghost as he spirals into surreal, chaotic events.
Styled by Law Roach, Grande appears in a lemon yellow AKNVAS dress that remains pristine despite the video's fiery, supernatural setting, with creative direction by Christian Juul Nielsen.
The singer is currently preparing for her Eternal Sunshine tour, kicking off on June 6 at Oakland Arena, which Grande indicated may be one of her final tours for the foreseeable future.
Petal arrives July 31 via Republic Records with executive production from Grande and Ilya, continuing the star's trend of releasing cinematic, Spielberg-level music videos with detailed sets.
