- CCTV footage captured Liridon Kastrati brandishing a chainsaw in Paisley last year, while PC Cowan and a colleague were injured and treated by paramedics as officers arrested Kastrati after calling for assistance.
- When the case called at the High Court in Glasgow on Friday, sentencing was adjourned to January 20 because a criminal justice social work report had not been prepared, and Judge Gallacher told Kastrati, `I'm willing to give you one further opportunity.`
- Kastrati had been remanded in custody for 18 months and was earlier told to expect a significant penalty, while the prosecution withdrew charges of breach of the peace, stealing a car and motoring offences.
