Attackers were able to exploit a vulnerability in certain Western Digital NAS models to execute malicious code. A Network Attached Storage (NAS) is a special storage that is directly integrated into the network, allowing multiple users or devices to access files and backups at the same time. NAS systems are often also used for private cloud services or remote access.
