At least three dead as slab of temple collapses in Maharashtra's Parbhani; rescue ops. under way
On Saturday, June 20, 2026, a portion of the Yashwadi Maruti Temple roof collapsed in Maharashtra's Parbhani district around 3:30 PM as devotees gathered to pay obeisance to Lord Hanuman.
The collapse involved an under-construction sabha mandap where 30 to 40 devotees were present, raising serious concerns regarding construction quality and safety norms at the site.
Officials confirmed five deaths and 18 injuries, while rescue teams have extracted around 25 people from the debris so far.
Emergency responders rushed those with serious injuries—at least eight to ten people—to nearby hospitals, as authorities arranged ambulances while the district administration monitored ongoing rescue efforts.
Located on the Manwat road, the site is about 190 km from Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, positioning the village in Maharashtra's broader geography.
