At least 100 people missing after submarine attack on Iranian ship off Sri Lanka: Report
- On Wednesday , the Iranian navy frigate IRIS Dena was hit and sank off Galle, leaving more than 100 missing after a dawn distress call.
- Following the distress call, Sri Lanka dispatched navy vessels and air force aircraft to mount a rescue, with navy spokesman Buddhika Sampath saying, `We responded to the distress call under our international obligations, as this is within our search and rescue area in the Indian Ocean.`
