- Nearby Trumpler 16 and the luminous Eta Carinae system add energy to the region, with radiation helping reshape the surrounding material. These forces carve cavities and erode dense clouds, creating pillars and ridges seen throughout the Carina Nebula.
- As the stars develop, their winds and radiation will eventually disperse the surrounding cloud. This process allows scientists to study how young stars collect gas and expel material through outflows, shaping the next generation of stellar systems.
