A 39-year-old woman was charged with indignity to a body and concealing a child after DNA technology identified her as Baby Parker's mother in this decades-old case.
- On Thursday, Brantford Police Service arrested a 39-year-old woman believed to be Baby Parker's mother, charging her with indignity to a body and concealing the body of a child.
- With new DNA tools, detectives identified the person believed to be the mother using advanced techniques and Toronto Police Service help, after neighbourhood DNA samples showed no match as of 2023.
- Police had previously released a 2005 letter and handwriting samples believed to be from Baby Parker's mother, but public tipsters did not lead to an arrest.
- Authorities added they are not seeking other suspects, and police will not release the accused's name now, citing privacy and the judicial process, said Insp. Keith Tollar.
- Community groups have marked the case over the years, including a July 28, 2022 grave marker observance and the Aug. 17, 2025 memorial, while the Ontario Provincial Police developed a behavioral sciences profile.
