Apple Unveils iPhone Duo, Its First Foldable, at $1,999
On Wednesday, September 9, 2026, Apple CEO John Ternus unveiled the company's first foldable smartphone, the iPhone Duo, during the 'Surprise and Shine' event in Cupertino, California.
Marking a leadership transition, Ternus led his first major product launch after succeeding longtime CEO Tim Cook earlier this month.
Starting at $1,999, the Duo features a 7.6-inch inner display and an A20 Pro chip, with pre-orders opening October 16 ahead of an October 23 release.
Apple also announced the Apple Watch Series 12 starting at $399 and the Ultra 4 at $799, with both models available for purchase starting September 18.
New hardware integrates with the updated, AI-powered Siri and iOS 27, which launches September 14, to provide advanced features like on-device transcription and improved health sensing.
