Appeals Court Reduces Sentences in Beret Case, Sends Private Detective to Prison

On Monday, the appeals chamber in the Beret case reduced the sentences imposed on the defendants for leaking information from criminal files. It sent private detective and former police officer Igor Gáborík to two years in prison. It imposed suspended sentences on the plaintiff Dagmar Máchová, police officer Radek Holub, customs officer Pavel Ším, and Gáborík's associate Vladimír Zmrhal.
