Number of passengers unknown: Further charter flight with Afghans expected

On board the plane from Pakistan, 190 "specially vulnerable persons" were apparently present. They come to Germany as part of the Federal Government's reception programmes.

Today, an aircraft with people from Afghanistan is scheduled to land in Germany. Around 190 people are expected to be on board. According to World Information, there was again chaos around the visas of several Afghans intended for the flight before departure.

Around 200 "specially vulnerable people" from Afghanistan are expected at Langenhagen Airport near Hanover.

Despite clear criticism from the Union faction, another charter flight from Pakistan with Afghans is scheduled to land in Germany on Thursday. On request, the Federal Government does not want to confirm the report. There is also no information on the number of passengers.

On Thursday, Germany is awaiting the landing of another plane carrying Afghan refugees. According to Bild newspaper, the plane was supposed to carry around 200 people who are considered particularly at risk. German media later said 174 people were involved. It is the second charter flight this month to bring people from Afghanistan to Germany.

Approximately 2,800 vulnerable Afghans are waiting in Pakistan with a visa to be admitted to Germany, ready to travel onward. The next charter flight is scheduled to bring 190 of them to Hanover on Thursday.
