Nvidia’s Jensen Huang says society needs ‘new social norms’ in the age of AI
Huang said AI should be regulated and paired with safety standards as it reshapes work, the economy and national security, he said.
On Tuesday, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang said society must establish new social norms to adapt to artificial intelligence during an interview in Sherman, Texas.
Artificial intelligence tools now enable people to build websites and analyze complex documents without programming skills, helping to bridge the technological divide in America.
Huang compared the societal transition to automobiles, noting how sidewalks and crosswalks replaced street play. "When cars came along, you obviously can't play in the streets now," he said.
Advocating for government regulation and safety standards, Huang emphasized that national security must remain a priority for the technology fueling recent stock market gains.
Addressing critics who warn of job losses or threats to humanity, Huang maintains an obligation to respond while remaining optimistic about scientific breakthroughs and economic growth.
