- Anthropic announced Claude for Life Sciences on Monday, October 20, 2025, marking its formal entry into life sciences research by applying AI to advance scientific discovery.
- After researchers used Claude on isolated tasks, Anthropic built an end-to-end offering months after hiring Eric Kauderer-Abrams and integrating with Benchling, PubMed, 10x Genomics and Synapse.org.
- Using Claude, a scientist in the demo queried Benchling, generated summaries and tables, and produced a regulatory-ready report, while Anthropic added Skills and connectors to link Claude with lab tools.
- Claude for Life Sciences is available now on Claude.com and AWS Marketplace, with Google Cloud Marketplace coming soon; Anthropic says analyses that took days can now take minutes, and Novo Nordisk cut documentation from more than 10 weeks to 10 minutes.
- Anthropic, founded in 2021, launched Claude Sonnet 4.5 last month and aims for a significant share of life sciences work, with Kauderer-Abrams stating, 'Now is the threshold moment for us where we've decided this is a big investment area.
