Another major bank to quit Brixton as Santander announces branch closure in the summer

Another major bank is leaving Brixton town centre as Spanish-owned Santander announced plans to close 95 out of its 444 UK branches. The Brixton branch at 498 Brixton Road will close its doors on 11th August 2025, as the company reduces its nationwide presence to just 290 full-service branches, 36 reduced hours sites, 18 counter-free locations and five Work Cafés.
