- PROVO, Utah, Oct. 8, 2025 — Angel and 2521 Entertainment partnered to acquire the DAVID franchise from Slingshot USA, setting a December 19, 2025 theatrical release.
- Having worked together on 14 projects, Angel and 2521 Entertainment built their partnership on titles like KING OF KINGS and THE WINGFEATHER SAGA.
- The acquisition also settles litigation and transfers Young David, a five-part series popular with Angel Guild members, while ZERO A.D. shifts from December 19, 2025 to 2026.
- Angel said it will explore additional episodes of the DAVID animated film and television franchise, and Neal Harmon called the project `DAVID is the largest audience-funded film in history`.
- The partners are forking out $78 million for the IP, with Angel's portion about $31 million in cash as its first major move since merging with a SPAC, and Trinity Capital committed $100 million last month.
