Ronaldo’s Saudi Champion Club Al-Nassr to Be Coached by Postecoglou
- Former Tottenham Hotspur and Nottingham Forest manager Ange Postecoglou, 60, signed a two-year deal with Al-Nassr on Friday. The Australian replaces Jorge Jesus, who departed the Saudi Pro League champions immediately after securing the league title.
- Postecoglou had been out of work since his sacking by Nottingham Forest last October, where he lasted just 39 days at the Premier League club. The extended absence marks his longest inactive period since his coaching career began.
- Coaching the Riyadh-based club offers opportunity to work with Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo, 41, who has scored 976 career goals. The squad also includes Sadio Mane, Joao Felix, and Kingsley Coman.
- Al-Nassr confirmed the two-season contract in a statement, expressing best wishes for success. Postecoglou will debut in the King of Cup Champions Clash against Diriyah on August 16.
- Previously, Postecoglou led Tottenham Hotspur to 2025 Europa League glory and won a treble with Celtic. Whether his trademark attacking style, known as "Angeball," adapts to Saudi Arabia's climate remains uncertain.
