Andy Robertson Joins Tottenham: A Premier League Power Move | Sports-Games
On Friday, Tottenham announced the signing of 32-year-old Scotland captain Andy Robertson on a free transfer, with the defender set to join the club on July 1 following his departure from Liverpool after nine years at Anfield.
Tottenham coach Roberto De Zerbi approved the move, citing his admiration for Robertson's technical qualities and his preference for Scottish players' mentality and passion in football.
During his nine years at Liverpool, Robertson made 378 appearances and won a full set of major honours, including two Premier League titles and the Champions League.
Robertson is currently in the United States preparing to captain Scotland at the World Cup for the first time in 28 years, telling fans, "I cannot wait to play for you guys."
The transfer follows a failed January attempt by Spurs to sign Robertson, which collapsed when Liverpool could not recall left-back Kostas Tsimikas from his loan at Roma.
Although the transfer market is closed, the rumor mill is running at full speed. Who will be making a move this coming summer? Stay up to date on all developments here.
