Andretti Global hires Ron Ruzewski as team principal, reuniting him with driver Will Power
Ron Ruzewski joins Andretti Global as team principal in 2026 after a 21-year Penske career, aiming to rebuild following an Indianapolis 500 scandal, CEO Dan Towriss said.
- On Wednesday, TWG Motorsports named Ron Ruzewski team principal of Andretti Global's IndyCar and Indy NXT programs, reuniting him with driver Will Power after Power signed with Andretti last month.
- In May, Team Penske fired Ruzewski, after a series tech inspection found illegally modified attenuators on Penske cars, resulting in $100,000 fines for each entry.
- Ruzewski spent more than two decades at Team Penske after joining in 2005, rising to managing director and contributing to multiple Indy 500 wins and Power's 2022 championship campaign.
- Ruzewski will start in January 2026 to coordinate with Dan Towriss and Jill Gregory as Rob Edwards moves to Chief Performance Officer at TWG Motorsports.
- The signings are expected to intensify competition across the IndyCar Series as Towriss rebuilds Andretti Global into a powerhouse after former Penske leaders joined rival teams.
