On May Day, Prague hosts traditional events by political parties and movements commemorating Labor Day, as well as various celebrations. A cheerful procession of students electing the King of May passed through the city center, couples in love headed to Petrin Hill to kiss under a blooming cherry tree, and there was also a traditional meeting of anarchists and other activists.
