An Action Hero Ayushmann Khurrana Delivers A Blockbuster
- Ayushmann Khurrana stars in the 137-minute Hindi-language comedy Udta Teer, playing a Pakistani spy who infiltrates India's counter-terrorism unit before suffering amnesia and believing he is an Indian patriot named Vikrant.
- An operation in Kashmir to capture terrorist Azhar Masood goes awry when he escapes, causing Pakistani agent Bilal to suffer memory loss that transforms him into an unlikely patriot.
- Director Aakash Kaushik relies on Golmaal-type slapstick humor to mock adversaries on both sides of the border. Mukul Dev portrays Masood constantly swiping right on 'Hinder' with its multiple 'hoors,' providing sporadic comedic relief.
- Sara Ali Khan plays Yamini, an employee in the 'defence ministry' where she discovers 'top-secret files' while balancing her marriage to Bilal, illustrating the film's tendency to invent subplots rather than maintain narrative focus.
- Critics awarded the film 2 stars, describing it as a 'tedious mix of spoof and sentiment' that fails to match the impact of films like Pathaan or Gadar, struggling to define its genre.
