Amit Shah skips Hubballi event due to health issues
- On Saturday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah canceled his scheduled 11 a.m. inauguration of the KLE Jagadguru Gangadhar Mahaswamigalu Moorusavirmath Medical College and 1,200-bed hospital in Hubballi after falling ill.
- Following his arrival late Friday, Shah was remaining in a Hubballi hotel on doctors' advice after developing health issues, KAHER Chancellor Prabhakar Kore announced.
- In Shah's absence, Union Minister Pralhad Joshi, Karnataka Medical Education Minister Sharan Prakash Patil, former Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai, and Belagavi MP Jagadish Shettar inaugurated the institutions.
- Shah was also scheduled to inaugurate the new headquarters building of the Sri Beereshwara Cooperative Credit Society in Belagavi district later Saturday, though his status for that event remained unclear.
- Thousands of attendees had gathered at the venue near Gabbur, Hubballi, for the high-profile inauguration, which featured local political leaders and clergy, including Sri Gurusiddha Rajayogindra Swami.
