Amber Davies Calls Out Theatre Filming - and Reminds Fans to ‘Just Enjoy the Show’.
Davies said filming distracted the cast and asked staff to remove one woman after Act One, as clips spread online and fans defended the theatre rule.
On Saturday, July 11, actress Amber Davies asked staff at the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre in Dublin to remove a woman from the front row who had been filming throughout the first act of Legally Blonde.
Davies, who is currently starring as Elle Woods, vented her frustration during the show's interval, noting that filming had become a recurring issue during the Irish tour dates.
Davies said the woman's actions "ruined the morale of our wonderful eighth show on a Saturday night from selfish actions," warning she would "count how many seats away you are from what door and you will be told and asked to leave."
Posting to Instagram Stories, Davies issued "your daily reminder not to film at the theatre," emphasizing that video and audio recording are strictly forbidden due to copyright concerns and performer distraction.
While audiences may film the curtain call, production company Royo declined to comment further on the incident, which saw social media supporters defend Davies against the disruptive filming.
