Shopify, Amazon strike deal to integrate 'Buy with Prime' in Shopify stores

  • Shopify and Amazon have reached an agreement that allows Shopify merchants to integrate Amazon's logistics capabilities into their stores, using an app developed by Amazon. The app, called Buy with Prime, will enable US merchants using Amazon's fulfilment network to offer fast and free delivery to Prime members through their Shopify checkout process.
  • Previously, Shopify merchants had to manage Buy with Prime independently from their Shopify stores. This partnership provides a streamlined solution for seamless integration.
  • The release of Buy with Prime on the Shopify platform is expected by September, opening up the service to all Shopify sellers who choose to use Amazon's logistics services. Shopify shares rose by 9% following the announcement.
