Amazon Picks Up ‘Baywatch’ Reboot Internationally
Amazon will also stream the complete Baywatch back catalogue, including all nine original seasons and Baywatch Hawaii, as the reboot expands to 20-plus territories.
- Amazon Prime Video secured international rights for the Baywatch reboot across Canada, India, and much of Europe, including France, Germany, Italy, and Spain, in a multi-territory deal brokered by Fremantle.
- As part of the agreement, Amazon Prime Video will license the original series' complete back catalogue, including all nine seasons of the original Baywatch and seasons 9 and 10 of Baywatch Hawaii.
- Stephen Amell leads the new cast alongside Jessica Belkin and Shay Mitchell, while director McG will helm the series premiere of the reimagined 1989 drama.
- Michela Di Mondo, EVP distribution for Canada and International at Fremantle, said the deal "marks a significant moment for one of the industry's most eagerly anticipated launches."
- The Baywatch reboot debuts in the U.S. in January 2027 on Fox, with the international Amazon release following later that year as Fox Entertainment Global maintains domestic distribution rights.
