JAMMU AND KASHMIR, INDIA, JUL 31 – The pilgrimage continues despite recent terror attacks, with over 400,000 devotees participating, highlighting the spiritual resilience and cultural unity of India, officials said.
- After Yatris were allowed to move from Baltal base camp, the annual Amarnath Yatra 2025 crossed the four-lakh mark at the holy cave shrine of Lord Shiva in the Himalayas.
- Beginning July 3, the Yatra coincides with Shravan Purnima and Raksha Bandhan festival, following the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 civilians, including 25 tourists and a local.
- On social media, Manoj Sinha hailed the Yatra crossing 4 lakh, saying `I bow to Lord Shiva for this miracle and express my gratitude to everyone involved`,
- Highlighting local impact, he praised devotees for strengthening Kashmir’s spiritual heritage, as LG Manoj Sinha said he is truly thankful to devotees for their unwavering faith.
- Following the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, joint forces killed all three Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists on July 28 in Operation Mahadev.
