Diallo Says Manchester United Squad Happy if Carrick Stays
Diallo said the squad values Carrick’s man-management after United secured Champions League qualification with three games to spare.
Manchester United winger Amad Diallo told Sky Sports that everyone in the squad would be happy to have interim manager Michael Carrick remain as head coach next season.
Following Ruben Amorim's January exit, the 44-year-old former United midfielder returned to Old Trafford as interim boss, steering the club to Champions League qualification with three games to spare.
Midfielder Kobbie Mainoo claimed players "want to die for" Carrick following Sunday's 3-2 victory over Liverpool, while Casemiro and Matheus Cunha have also backed him for the full-time role.
Diallo explained that Carrick and coach Travis Binnion transformed the dressing room by emphasizing "your mistake is my mistake," creating unity vital to recent success.
While Carrick's long-term future remains uncertain, United face Sunderland on Saturday, a match where Diallo returns to Stadium of Light after his 2022/2023 loan there.
