- On 28 May 2025, Alpine introduced its first purpose-built electric SUV, the A390, targeting markets in Europe and Australia with performance and features aimed at competing against models like the Porsche Macan and Hyundai Ioniq 5 N.
- The A390 follows Alpine's plan to launch seven electric vehicles but faces uncertainty about its 2027 U.S. Market entry due to new tariffs and policies from the Trump administration.
- The A390 offers a tri-motor powertrain with torque vectoring, rear-biased all-wheel drive, up to 464 hp, and a 0-62 mph time of 3.9 seconds in the GTS variant.
- It features an 89 kWh battery with up to 345 miles WLTP range, 190 kW DC fast charging allowing 15-80% charge under 25 minutes, and a driver-focused cabin with a 13-speaker Devialet system.
- The A390 is confirmed for late 2026 or 2027 European launch and the Australian market, while Alpine’s U.S. Plans remain unclear, suggesting the brand could remain Euro-centric for now.
