iPhone 17, 17 Air, 17 Pro and Pro Max Battery Capacities Leaked Ahead of Apple’s Awe Dropping Event
Leaked data shows eSIM-only iPhone 17 models have up to 5% larger batteries than SIM card versions, reflecting Apple’s shift to maximize internal space.
Just ahead of Tuesday's launch, ShrimpApplePro on X published alleged battery capacities for all four iPhone 17 models found in China's 3C certification database.
Regional SIM rules and product variants explain why the iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max come in both SIM-enabled and eSIM-only versions depending on the country, as Apple expands eSIM-only iPhones this year.
Reportedly, the capacities show iPhone 17 at 3,692mAh, iPhone 17 Air at 3,036mAh/3,149mAh, iPhone 17 Pro at 3,988mAh/4,252mAh, and iPhone 17 Pro Max at 4,823mAh/5,088mAh, with eSIM-only variants gaining up to 6.6% capacity.
Apple has not yet confirmed battery specs, and MacRumors has not independently verified the iPhone 17 Pro Max's 5,088mAh capacity, which would surpass the 5,000mAh milestone if accurate.
Given EU labelling rules, official battery capacities for iPhone 17 model variants might be published later this week, as Apple repair staff completed training last week and China may still receive SIM-enabled versions.
