- Last week, Seth Kenney, owner of PDQ Arm & Prop, filed a multi-page complaint in Santa Fe, New Mexico, alleging Alec Baldwin and Rust producers `intentionally defamed` him in a nationwide scapegoat smear campaign.
- Kenney alleges Alec Baldwin, Hannah Gutierrez-Reed and more than 30 others conspired with fixers and media to deflect blame for the Oct. 21, 2021 discharge at Bonanza Creek Ranch that killed Halyna Hutchins and wounded Joel Souza.
- Kenney testified in March 2024 that he provided a cleaned box of 50 dummy rounds and `rattle-tested` them, saying investigators never proved live ammunition came from his stock.
- The complaint seeks unspecified damages for reputational and financial harm, with Seth Kenney saying he has been financially ruined and unable to find work; Baldwin's July 2024 dismissal helped prompt Kenney's suit after Baldwin filed a January 2025 malicious-prosecution claim.
- Kenney told Variety he suspects Thell Reed supplied the rounds, noting Hannah Gutierrez-Reed once sued him in 2022 but later dropped the case, while texts say she was desirous to shoot live ammo from guns used on `The Old Way`.
