By Kamel M. – A press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs indicates that the head of diplomacy, Ahmed Attaf, met this Friday in Johannesburg with his Spanish counterpart, José Manuel Albares, on the sidelines of the G20 ministerial meeting. The press release states, among other things, that Spain thanked Algeria for its contribution to the release of Spanish national Navaro Canada Joaquim last January.
The Minister for Foreign Affairs, EU and Cooperation, José Manuel Albares, and his Algerian counterpart, Ahmed Attaf, have held their first bilateral meeting this Friday since the diplomatic crisis between the two countries broke out in 2022 following the Spanish endorsement of the Moroccan autonomy plan for Western Sahara.
