ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Albany County Sheriff's Office held a swearing in ceremony on Wednesday for 17 new recruits. They will start a 27-week academy on Monday and are expected to graduate in April 2026. The sheriff's office said that if all 17 recruits graduate the academy, the department will be fully staffed.
