AKRON, Ohio - Akron-based country band The Shootouts may have begun a decade ago as a fun side project for signer-songwriter-guitarist Ryan Humbert and his primary bandmates — lead guitarist Brian Posten and backing singer Emily Bates — to live out their Western swing, old-school honky-tonk and trad-country fantasies.
