Akka Trailer: Netflix Series Explores Loyalty, Betrayal And Revenge In A Women-led Kingdom
Netflix will premiere Akka on October 30, a crime drama starring Keerthy Suresh and Radhika Apte set in a fictional kingdom where women have ruled for 800 years.
Set in 1985, the story unfolds in Pernuru, a territory where women control households, businesses, and the local underworld. This established order faces disruption when an outsider arrives seeking to dismantle the empire.
Rudra, played by Radhika Apte, challenges the ruling clan and vows to dismantle the empire, confronting Bhavani, portrayed by Keerthy Suresh. While Bhavani fights to protect generations-old legacy, Rudra refuses to be defined by the existing order.
Their intense rivalry forms the series' backbone, blending gangster genre with themes of loyalty, family, and revenge. Trailer footage shows weapons and violent clashes, signaling a conflict extending beyond territorial disputes.
Produced by YRF Entertainment, Akka marks another Netflix collaboration following projects like The Romantics and The Railway Men. Supporting cast includes Tanvi Azmi, Mahesh Manjrekar, Anshuman Pushkar, and Monica Panwar.
