Air Canada flight veers off runway at Montreal airport
Air Canada said 156 passengers and six crew were evacuated by bus after the Boeing 737 Max came to rest on grass.
On Thursday, Air Canada Flight AC774 from Los Angeles exited a taxiway at Montreal-Trudeau International Airport, with no injuries reported among passengers and crew.
Aéroports de Montréal activated its emergency coordination centre and closed the north runway 'to facilitate the safe evacuation of passengers,' resulting in operational delays.
The Boeing 737 MAX carried 156 passengers and six crew members, all of whom were transported by bus to the terminal following the taxiway exit.
Air Canada warned of possible operational delays and encouraged travelers to check flight schedules before heading to Montreal-Trudeau airport to verify departure times.
Plans are underway to tow the 737 MAX to a hangar for full inspection while Air Canada conducts a detailed investigation to determine the incident's cause.
