1 dead after plane makes emergency landing in Prince George, B.C.
Transportation Safety Board investigators are deploying as officials say the aircraft struck at least two vehicles and injuries to others remain unknown.
On Thursday, a Beech King Air 200 made an emergency landing on Foothills Boulevard in Prince George, colliding with two vehicles and killing one ground occupant during the afternoon commute around 2:30 p.m.
The aircraft's abrupt landing forced multiple vehicles off Foothills Boulevard, including one into a ditch, as a wing smashed through a truck windshield and scattered turbofan debris across the roadway.
Prince George Fire Rescue responded to the "serious motor vehicle incident involving a plane," warning residents to avoid the area as the Transportation Safety Board deployed investigators expected to arrive Friday morning.
RCMP media relations officer Jennifer Cooper stated that "potential injuries" to other vehicle occupants and aircraft passengers remain unverified, though social media video showed approximately eight people on board.
The Beech King Air 200 is registered to Sekani Air Ltd, which the Transportation Safety Board is examining to determine the technical cause of the fatal emergency landing.
