Israeli lawmaker announces resignation from Knesset after leaving Lapid's centrist party
Israeli Knesset member Idan Roll announced his resignation, stating he will not run in the next election. Roll left the centrist Yesh Atid party in January to run on his own party's ticket, a move the party condemned as handing a seat to the ruling coalition
Roll announced in a tweet on the X network that he does not intend to run in the next elections, and therefore is resigning from the Knesset now. Roll actually resigned from the Yesh Atid faction at the beginning of the year, and operated in the Knesset as a single faction. Lapid wished him well in the future.
Roll resigned from Yesh Atid in January and founded the "National Majority" faction. He said he decided not to run in the next elections, which is why he is resigning now, during the Knesset recess. His replacement is expected to be the next candidate on the Yesh Atid list, Attorney Adi Azuz.
The MK who left the opposition party and founded a faction called "The National Majority" in January announced his resignation from the Knesset and his retirement from political life. Adi Azoz, a women's rights activist, is expected to enter the Knesset in his place. Lapid said: "I wish you much success moving forward."
