The AfD membership in Saxony continues to be no obstacle to a job in the state service. This was clarified by the Ministry of the Interior after the announcement of the corresponding plans in Rhineland-Palatinate.
AfD members are now banned from public service in the German state of Rhineland-Palatinate. This applies to civil servants, police officers, teachers, and other public employees. The measure has drawn strong criticism from constitutional lawyers and politicians, Bild reports.
Several state lawmakers consider it unconstitutional to exclude AfD members from the state service solely because of their party membership - as planned in Rhineland-Palatinate.
